Exhibition in CCAI’s Student Gallery

Forty-three students from Carson, Dayton, Douglas, and Whittell high schools have their work in the Spring Forward 2025 art exhibition at the Brick. This delightful exhibit presents an array of imaginative projects based on students’ years of classroom study and their amazing craftsmanship.

Spring Forward 2025, a Capital City Arts Initiative (CCAI) student show, is in the Community Development Building (the Brick), 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City, now through May 15, 2025. The Initiative will host a reception for the students on Wednesday, April 2, 5-6pm. The Brick is open to the public, M-F, 8am – noon, 1-4pm. An exhibition video tour with artists’ interviews will be online soon.

Spring Forward 2025, includes a variety of art media including ceramics, drawing, painting, and photography pieces.

Whittell High School’s participating students are Lily Davis, Alyssa Edie, Marisol Layla Santana, Caroline Schilling, India Smith-Vargas. They worked with teacher Paul Lorion.

Participating students from Dayton High include Amanda Biggin, Isabellerose Bishop, Delaney Buchanan, Alina Coyle, Arianna Gutierrez, Savannah Hernandez, Maycen Hutcheson, and Julia Iosefa, all who studied art with teacher Malaynia Wick.

Douglas High’s students include Kylee Barron, Zoe Becker, JJ Bilotta, Elissa Violet Dumlao, Madison Duffy, Ellee Ferguson, Kiley Girdner, Mia Hamilton, Sydney McCulloch, Molly Mortensen, Grace Reiner, Cesar Monterrey Rosales, and Mari Stone. Their teachers are Kelley Yost, Zoe Shorten, and Micki Dixon.

Carson High’s participating students are Ashton Benenati, Madison Clozier, Abigayle Coulam, Khia Dunbar, Sebastian Goodwin, Vincent Heckman, Joshua Lopez, Alex Martinez, Keboa Mitchell, Tien Nguyen, Zarahi Orozco, Keani Rizo, Abril Rodriquez, Angel Vega, Mable Wacker, Pebble Wiggins, and Adam Zoghra-Awali. These students worked with teachers Alisa Kuniya, Karen McCraw, and Matt Theilen.

Sharon Rosse, Executive Director, said “CCAI is proud to present this show of our area’s creative high school talents. The students’ art goes far beyond one’s expectations of sophistication and demonstrates their accomplished, diverse, and creative achievements.”

This show is another in CCAI’s ongoing series of student exhibitions in the Brick.

The Capital City Arts Initiative is an artist-centered nonprofit organization committed to community engagement in contemporary visual arts through exhibitions, arts education programs, illustrated talks, artist residencies, and online activities.
