Sara Rockinger: Silk & Sinew Essay

Essay writer Sara Rockinger grew up in the Midwest and received a BA in International Relations at the College of Wooster, Ohio in 1986. Sara earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Fibers at Colorado State University in Fort Collins in 2008. Sara currently resides in Colorado.
Her artwork has been included in several national exhibitions including the Mesa Contemporary Art Museum in Mesa, Arizona, and the traveling fiber art exhibit titled Innovators and Legends: Generations in Textiles. She has been awarded multiple grants for her In/Visible Installation and has been invited to participate in Jentel and Brush Creek Artist residencies in Wyoming. Her work has been published in Fiber Arts Magazine and the book Freestyle Machine Embroidery.
