About the Carson 5:

Carol Brown's hand-pulled editions of Japanese woodblock prints show exotic orchids' fragile qualities, patterns, and vibrant colors. She received a 'Jackpot' art grant from the Nevada Art Council to attend
the New York Botanical Garden Orchid Show in Bronx, New York.

Michael Gilbert has been a Washoe Valley resident for 25 years. He graduated from California State University at Fullerton in 1969 with a Bachelor degree in studio painting and ceramics.  He has
exhibited in California, Nevada and Arizona. Gilbert's photographs, from the series "Double Vision," portray hidden spirit forms in nature.

Nanette Oleson's vibrant floral paintings have been selected for the Best and Brightest exhibition at Scottsdale Arts in Arizona.  Nanette is a full time Carson City school counselor.

Ralph Phillips digital photography signal a shift in his work from traditional black and white processing, producing "extreme" and "resting structures," images of Virginia City’s legendary American Flats.

James Simpson's bases his photographic work on the underlying repeated designs in nature that he identifies as the foundations of all existence. Simpson holds a degree in poetry from Orange Coast College and a BFA in drawing and painting from California State University, Long Beach. For
more than two decades, his work has appeared in shows throughout California and northern Nevada.

The gallery is open Saturdays from 1:00 to 5:00 and closed Nomember 24, December 22
and December 29.
