“Nevada Neighbors, the Capital City Arts Initiative's ongoing series of illustrated public talks, will host a quite distant neighbor in April. From half way around the globe, artist|arts activist Nadija Mustapic will present an overview of contemporary art movements in Croatia. Her lecture, "The View from the Kvarner Bay: Art in Croatia," will take place on Wednesday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carson City Library. There will be an informal reception for Ms. Mustapic at 6:00 p.m. preceding her talk. The Carson City Library is located at 900 North Roop Street in Carson City. The presentation and reception are free, and the public is cordially invited.

Earlier in the day, she will be a featured guest at FWAC!, CCAI's monthly 'First Wednesday's Arts Coffee," which meets at the Bliss Mansion at the corner of Robinson and Elizabeth Streets in historic Carson City, across from the Governor's Mansion. Artists and arts enthusiasts are enthusiastically invited to attend. During her week-long stay in northern Nevada, Ms. Mustapic, will visit local schools to give presentations. As with all Nevada Neighbors speakers, she will also meet informally with artists and art students to discuss their work.

Ms. Mustapic teaches at the University of Rijeka Applied Arts Academy, in her hometown Rijeka, Croatia. She actively participates in artist-centered organizations, and is a dynamic contributor to Croatia’s emerging art scene.
