[CCAI Nevada Neighbors Lecture Series at Carson City Library]

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

"The View from Manhattan"

Nevada Neighbors, the Capital City Arts Initiative's ongoing series of presentations on contemporary art, will feature arts writer and poet Gregory Crosby on Wednesday, April 30, with "The View from Manhattan," a talk at the Carson City Library at 7:00 p.m. There will be an informal reception for Mr. Crosby at the library at 6:15 preceding his talk.

The library is located at 900 North Roop Street. The lecture and reception are free and the public is cordially invited.

In his talk, Mr. Crosby will show innovative work from the evolving art scene and discuss some of the difficulties and challenges that New York's status as the world's art capital faces in the future.

Born in Michigan, Gregory Crosby spent his formative years in Las Vegas, where for more than a decade he was an art critic, columnist and cultural commentator. Mr. Crosby holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the City College of New York, where in 2006 he won the Marie Ponsot Poetry Prize. His poems have appeared in several journals, including Court Green, Jacket, Pearl, [sic], and The South Carolina Review.
