The Capital City Arts Initiative announces its exhibition, ART from SNC, at the Community Version 2Development Building [the Brick], 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City. Eight student artists from Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada, have work in the exhibit. The free exhibition is available to the public from December 1, 2016 – January 30, 2017.

ART from SNC includes a wide variety of art including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, and mixed media pieces that shows the diversity of the students’ creativity. The participating student artists include Collyn Aubrey, Lily Luna Bennett, Piera Bernhard, Bryce Betterley, Garrett Effa, Meiasha Gray, Miranda McFarland, Vanessa O’Neill, and Ian Wieczorek.

The exhibition presents paintings by Collyn Aubrey, Bryce Betterley, and Garrett Effa. Printmakers Piera Bernhard and Miranda McFarland exhibit a variety of print techniques with their work. Lily Luna Bennett’s Morning Glory is a large ink on paper drawing. Meiasha Gray has three small black/white abstract photographs in the exhibit. Vanessa O’Neill and Ian Wieczorek show their mixed media sculptures.

Sharon Rosse, CCAI Executive Director, said “We are delighted to bring the Sierra Nevada College artists’ creative work to Carson City. We appreciate the SNC Art Department’s collaboration to make this show happen.”

The Brick is open to the public Monday – Friday, 8am – noon, 1-4pm. The show will remain in the building’s lobby exhibition space through January 30, 2017.

This show is the third in CCAI’s 2016 – 2017 series of student exhibitions in the Brick. CCAI will present a group exhibition by Western Nevada College in February; and another group show of high school students’ work in the spring.
