"Good bye Mr. Ford" at CCAI’s

Capital City Arts Initiative's Caffeine! Gallery at Comma Coffee presents "Good
bye Mr. Ford," the second of two exhibitions honoring retiring Carson
High School Art Teacher and 2005 Governors Arts Awards Excellence in Education
recipient Paul Ford. The exhibition runs the entire month of May.
There will be a reception on Friday, May 6, from 5 to to 6 p.m. Comma Coffee
is located in Carson City's historic downtown at 312 Carson Street across
from the State Legislature Building. The exhibition and reception are free
and the public is cordially invited.
The exhibition will feature work by Carson High students Logan Ahl, Wes
Ambrose, Brandon Beach, Heather Blanchard, Edwin Bruno, Milan del Vecchio,
Amanda Gildea, Rosa Ibarra, Jolene Kaspar, Ashley Kiel, Sara MacCarty,
Jessica May, Shelby Moulden, Christina Ross, Jenna Singleton, Serena Skudlarek,
Ashley Terry, Casey Van Veckhoven and Parker Willey.
Caffeine! is a project sponsored by the Capital City Arts Initiative and
Comma Coffee. Caffeine! presents month-long exhibitions of work by local
artists.

"Paul Ford, Carson High School
Paul Ford has inspired and encouraged Carson High School students to
express their creativity and talent for 26 years. As a mentor and teacher,
Ford designed an innovative arts curriculum incorporating state-of-the-art
studios and developed student exhibition spaces on and off campus.
Other community organizations have benefited from his commitment, including
the Capital City Arts Initiative, Reno Arts Commission, and the Carson
City Main Street Mural Committee. A prominent artist in his own right,
Ford has received a Nevada Arts Council Visual Arts Fellowship and has
had his work exhibited in numerous shows including the Biennale Internazionale
dell’Arte Contemporaranea in Florence,
Italy and The De-Constructed West at the Millennium Arts Center in
Washington, D.C."

arts & culture
of Carson City and the surrounding region through community building
