Artists In Education

Since 2004, through its Artists In Education [AIE] program, CCAI artists have worked with art faculty and students at its partner schools to enhance their curricula. Exhibition artists and Nevada Neighbors speakers give illustrated talks about their work at the schools and some artists will give hands-on workshops depending on the teacher’s preference and the artist’s medium.

Western Nevada College faculty arrange student field trips to CCAI’s three galleries with teachers leading class discussions about the art. University of Nevada, Reno, Art Department grad students teach workshops and give talks about their work at the high schools.

CCAI’s Student Gallery in the Brick presents group shows each year by its partner schools’ students.

Partner schools include:
• Carson High School, Carson City School District
• Dayton High School, Lyon County School District
• Douglas High School, Douglas County School District
• Pioneer High School, Carson City School District
• Sierra Nevada University, Incline Village
• Silver Stage Middle School, Silver Springs, Lyon County School District
• University of Nevada, Reno
• Western Nevada College, Carson City
