CCAI By the Numbers! • Here’s Our 22nd Year’s Stats

In our 22nd year, 2024 – 2025, CCAI has produced and presented 14 exhibitions in 4 galleries totaling 885 gallery days. We have presented work by 118 artists/essay writers and 84 student artists. To provide the public with gallery and program access, we published 6 exhibit essays, 14 virtual gallery tours with artists interviews, 2 online Nevada Neighbors talks, and 12 monthly e-newsletters. CCAI paid honoraria to artists, essay writers, Nevada Neighbors speakers, graphic design/video production, and for student translations in English and Spanish. The collaborations for gallery spaces continued with city buildings (Brick, Courthouse, and Crowell Room) and with Western Nevada College’s Bristlecone Gallery. The work with our great partner schools continued with Carson, Dayton, Douglas, and Whittell high schools and with WNC.

Volunteers have donated over 400 hours to the Initiative. Over 18 businesses and funders contributed financially or with in-kind services. The Initiative served over 6,500 people in-person through four galleries based on M-F building traffic, receptions’ attendance, and in-person class visits. CCAI reached a growing number of people through our 87+ YouTube video views; online website and YouTube views total over 12,000. We actively promoted exhibitions and talks in a variety of social media and print media. The on-going generous support from members and funders kept us energized and our programs moving forward — for this we are most grateful.

WHAT WE DO

CCAI provides a myriad of programs through its active community partnerships. CCAI initiatives engage area citizens in a wide-ranging civic dialogue about how the arts foster innovative community development, encourage long-term regional economic development, and provide cultural leadership.

CCAI offers its programs in various public venues throughout the communities of northwestern Nevada, making the visual arts available to a large segment of area residents, including those who may otherwise never choose to visit an arts exhibition or program. CCAI presents the work of local, regional, and national visual artists and arts writers in public spaces and workplaces, sponsors public lectures on arts practice, offers arts-in-education programs and resources for all ages, and serves as a strong advocate for the arts in northwestern Nevada.

In an era of shrinking budgets for public schools and educational institutions, CCAI supplements schools’ art curricula with professional artists who conduct arts enrichment talks for area high school and college classrooms. Through this program, CCAI aims to stimulate students’ creative thinking and inspire their imaginations to help develop crucial work skills for the 21st century.
